Nevada Blue to Offer Supplemental Medicare Coverage to Members
Members of the Nevada health plan can enroll in supplemental Medicare plans that offer comprehensive benefits and preventative care.

By - On October 1, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of Nevada members can enroll in Medicare Supplemental Innovation Plans F, G, or N that provide preventative care services and extended benefits, the payer announced earlier this week.
The plans will provide beneficiaries coverage for vision and hearing benefits that include exams, eyewear, and hearing aids. By offering these benefits, BCBS of NV hopes that their members can improve their quality of life, adequately screen for symptoms of chronic conditions, and manage their healthcare costs.
“We are pleased to offer Medicare-eligible Nevadans our Innovative Plans F, G, and N Medicare Supplement plans — competitively priced plans that help members better control their out-of-pocket health care costs through aspects such as the coverage of co-insurance of Medicare Parts A and B, as well as hearing and vision benefits,” said Josh Martin, President of West Region Medicare at Anthem.
The payer will also offer members a value-added program that engages elderly beneficiaries in exercise at no additional cost along with a 24/7 hotline to help beneficiaries with other care concerns.
“With Anthem’s Nurse HelpLine, members can speak directly with a registered nurse who can help answer health-related, non-emergency questions 24/7,” Anthem added. “The always-available Nurse HelpLine can triage symptoms and offer advice for the appropriate level of care. This helps members get the information they need, when they need it – giving them peace of mind.”
By offering more comprehensive Medicare Supplemental Plans, the payer hopes to enhance care for their beneficiaries while excelling in an underrepresented insurance market.
